The Assistant Research Scientist's major activities are necropsy, performing the direct fluorescent antibody test (dFAT), reporting results to the county, and data management. Salary Range:
From $49202 to $62806 Annually
Minimum Qualification
Non-Competitive:
bachelor's degree in the natural sciences and one year of professional research experience in an appropriate field. Substitution:
30 graduate hours leading to an advanced degree in an appropriate field may be substituted for the required experience. Preferred Qualification:
The preferred candidate will have professional work experience in clinical laboratory sciences, biology, microbiology, veterinary medicine, wildlife biology, public health or infectious diseases. Experience in necropsy, wildlife or veterinary medicine, fluorescent microscopy, data management, cell culture, and molecular techniques. Bachelor's degree in biological or chemical sciences and a minimum of two years' experience in the handling of infectious clinical samples and/or human pathogens at biosafety level 2 containment.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
